Hey, how one can abuse the perk point system?
« on: January 04, 2001, 10:57:00 AM »
Jim brought up a good point.  The perk point system can be abused.  Lets say I can afford 2 accounts.  Now, lets say I have 2 computers with AH loaded.  All I have to do is spawn an OST at a remote, unused field with my 'alias', then fly over there with my XXX Aircraft(Pick a plane with good perk point value) and strafe my alias until it dies, do this for about 1 hour (Turn around in seat, hit "Fly" on the other computer with alias) and in about 1-2 hours I should have enough perk points to fly whatever I damn please...

Yes, I think a few will do this, any way of stopping someone?

Just food for thought....

Hmm, better yet, I can get about 10 free accounts by using various relatives email addy's, have them send me the password when they receive it, abuse the 2-week trial thingy, and get my perk points that way as well....more food for thought, HTC.

If there are any retards out there willing to take the time to do this, then so be it.  Maybe it'll keep them off the streets!

You know what'll happen, dontcha?

If people do start doing this they'll be even more whines about too many Chog/N1k/whatever and HTC will put the perk point cost up.......which means I'll be able to fly my Spit XIV about once every 6 months.

Then again, that may be not such a bad thing, since we know every perk plane in the air is gonna be hunted for the points by just about everything up to and including B17s.

Hmmmm. Someone needs a crutch and fudges gameplay to garner perk points to gain access to a TA-152 or B-29. I say,,,,,, so what? They can't fake using the reward that comes from perk points. They're dead meat the first time they go up in it against any other opponent besides themselves.

It's like cheating in school. Some can have someone else do the reports, they fake the homework,  then cheat on all all the exams and get thier diploma. That doesn't make them an engineer capable of anything.

Or a squaddy can change countries and be a target drone for his mates so they can all fly a perked plane.

As with anything in life, there are ways for the unscrupulous to circumvent the rules.

If you have the time to sit there with 2 CPUs and coordinate this, and not have anyone notice you, so be it.

It's like the guys in Everquest who would play with two computers, and have two characters in a party. If you're so lame, you need to do it, hey knock yourself out.

Well I have two accounts and sure as hell wouldnt bother to waste my time like that.

No I have a much better Game-the Game-Concept:
find these small allmost unprotected (2 light acks) camps with several dozen soft barracks and blow them up.
Janjan and I stumbled over such a camp 2 nights ago while in F6F's.Just for fun we began blowing things up (the airfield we had in mind had gotten captured by then) , and much to our surprise we had 12 and 20 perk points standing when rtb.If you map these small camps and go after them everytime u can your air\ground perks will skyrocket.

On the other side I sank a CV first time today: worth 1 point.Rubbish.

By all mean let people do this if they like. If they're lame enough to have to they'll be an easy kill in their perk plane, and thus netting the rest of us a healthy amount of points for downing them.
