Old timer flight sim player here wondering......
« on: January 23, 2001, 10:19:00 AM »
Hi all!

I'm new to Aces High, just downloaded the game last night actually, and was wondering something.

I'm a old time warbirds player, although I gave up playing years ago because of the sheer cost of it, and I recognised hitech and pyro's callsigns in the credits, are these same guys who used to be with Warbirds organization??

If so I'm certian this game kicks major prettythang :-)

Yup.  This sim has attracted the elite pilots from a number of sims...WB, AW, FA, etc.  I think the hardcore simmers realize that the flight model fidelity is the best here.  I know quite a few of the "elite" from AW gave up on Aces High because their "expert" egos got crushed here.

Then again, there are alot of others from AW who came here and do quite well.  The game is different enough from any other sim you've played to require a period of adjustment to get back into the swing of things.

Welcome Uzzi,

You will find many similarities to WB, but this is better.  Guns actually do damage, there are some great options to gameplay, like vehicles and boats.

I strongly suggest reading the help files on the HTC website.  Many commands same as WB, some not all.

Good luck,

Well thanks again for the welcomes, I can see how this could be very addicting, just had my first kill and now I'm hooked!

Getting my brother involved, he used to play a lot of warbirds too, I think he's going to love it!

Salute all, see you in battle!

Once you get settled in and get a feel for the game, you'll have a blast.

Flying with a squad is great fun too. Lots of good squads here in AH. Take your time and shop around....and on the behalf of the 332nd Flying Mongrels, (hint) Welcome.
