New "lala" skin WIP

S/Ldr Retinger's Spitfire Mk IX, ZF-R, MK984 "Lala" from 308 “City of Krakow” Fighter Squadron.

If you look at the many photos of that bird, she isn't nearly as beat up and weathered as yours.  The fuselage D-Day stripes are much cleaner and sharper and the paint chipping on the cowling is almost non-existant.

It was the squadron leader's bird and they tended to be taken care of well.

All the images are from "Spitfire IX & XVI of Polish Airmen" by Wojtek Matusiak.  There are some great photos of high back Spit 16s from 308 squadron as well if you want a wingman in different markings

Note the lettering of Lala as well as the placement of the squadron codes, the shape of the R and the stencil effect on the aircraft serial as well as the relative cleaness of the aircraft

Hello Kazan, how are you mate?

Did you do this skin in a 4000+ template or in the 1024 size?

The quality of your work looks outstanding but it seems like you get a lot of detail lost in compression.

I know that's a pretty huge problem but it might be worth looking into for the future.
