« on: September 11, 2008, 02:32:33 PM »
Has anyone ever given this any thought....why (if there is a reason) is there not a hot pad at a V-base...it seems to me if you can land and re-arm ,get airborne then why shouldn't we be able 2...and as far as vulchin goes...if you dont wanna risk it dont land

Dang, you really like to spam...

As for the real topic, it's been asked for and discussed in-depth. There's still no set answer, though.

IMO its not based on the fuel part, if you are undamaged, and would like to do a quick rearm, maybe restore 1/2 or 1/4 of your ammo and a small bit of fuel. This way you can fight your way home if need be, or snag another kill or two. It's not like ground bases in WWII didn't have 50cal rounds...

It may or may not be a good idea; it's not for me to decide.  I think the intent of the question was for cases where, because of an enemy rush of territory, your vbase is 50 miles or so from the nearest friendly airbase.  It would be nice in some cases, to be able to refuel/rearm a fighter at that vbase to continue the defense of that base from the incoming hordes.

Think of it as a kind of forward airfield, perhaps with limited fuel/ammo (25-50 percent of what you originally had at your real airbase).  And of course, if the ords and fuel are down - or maybe all the hangers - you get no refuel/rearm.

Nah.  Veh bases are equiped and tooled for gv's, not aircraft.  Airfields have "hotpads" for aircraft and although they can reload gv's... I dont think aircraft should be able to reload ar veh bases.  GV's can be re-supped via a jeep, M3, 251, and goon.

Keep it as is.
