Deer in the headlights? Did you watch the interview?
I watched that clip and she looked thrown back, like she had no clue as to what Bush Doctrine was.  She studies well, but that little bit, shed light on how prepared whe is......she's not. :aok

She may have been embarrassed because of the way Charlie asked the question. If you were on national television and someone asked you a question you might at first expect that the person asking you had a clue. If he had asked you what the 10th planet in our solar system was you wouldn't be expecting a trick question would you? Your first thought might be oh crap, I didn't know there was a 10th planet. Later you find out there isn't and the questioner was just looking for a gotcha moment.

There was no deer in the headlights, if anything, she put Charlie on the spot to explain his question and he got it wrong.

The best part of all this is that most women probably don't sit around and debate the political issues like we do here. They don't give the other side a chance to explain why Palin is devil's sister. They see "the media" and Obama's camp attack a person that a great many of them admire and identify with. The more attacks, the greater the empathy.  :aok

Jesus man, they are just trying to EAT Palin alive. Are they really THAT scared of her?? If someone makes up a story about her, it sees front page news.

Why do you think Obama has a shot? Certainly not because of his "present" voting record.

I consider the fact that she hired friends to fill government roles a non issue. What politician doesn't do that to help out friends?

Your link doesn't say her husband got to make decisions on how to run Alaska, however, it does say that he got to sit in on meetings. I do find that a bit odd, but we have certainly seen far stranger things in American politics heh.

Hiring off of emotional ties, rather than actually finding someone who is fair and impartial, and probably more qualified for the job, should be of tantamount importance.

I'll put an example that some of you here might have run into everyday...The area representative (head) of the football teams' that my kids play for, let a friend of his coach. Not because of ability, but because of their personal relationship.

That season, the varsity team lost every single game.

The next year, they changed coaches, as the friend went to coach another age/grade division. The replacement coach was someone who wanted to be the Varsity coach the year they lost the entire season. They turned around, and won all but one game-the championship "bowl" game.

It's a serious issue whenever people are put into appointments not because of ability, but because of contacts.

Kinda like Hillary attempting to run the health care thingy back in Bill's days as Pres.

Does the same apply to race? Would Obama be where he is if he weren't black? Seriously?

I know; her over-zealous involvement, when you consider how it tied her to Bill's administration, might have cost her the DNC nomination this year. What comes around, goes' around... :lol

Obama got where he did because he won the nomination. If people voted for him because he's black, that's not equated with him having any relatives that put him there (AFAIK.)
