Spending perks on anything?
« on: September 16, 2008, 02:31:06 PM »
Forgive me if it's been posted before...but...

What's everyone's opinion about perks being used for anything...meaning...

I've got more bomber perks than fighter or vehicle perks (mostly because I suck), but I can only use bomber perks on Ar-234s...yippee...

Why not allow me to use my bomber perks for Tigers or -4 Corsairs, or vice versa?

If someone sucks at GV-ing, but is good at bombing, and uses his bomber perks for a Tiger, does it give him a decided advantage if he sucks at GVing in the first place?

Just a thought.

Fair request, but what would be the use of this?  As it is, if you're lacking in perks, you can just go and blow up some strats.

I don't play for perks, and I guess I could go level some ack factory or dar factory if I needed them. But I haven't used any bomber perks in ages - they just sit there.

It'd be nice to use these perks on something that I could use to contribute to a mission, base-grab, whatever. Obviously, if I lose it, I lose it. But there are those rare moments when the difference between a Tiger and a Panzer could change the outcome of a combat.

Perked vehicles are intended to give a player a slight advantage at a cost and risk. I don't see it causing any upset in the balance of the game, as Lynx or any number of other players will probably shoot me down anyway.  :lol

Here's a thought. ok he said he had twice as many bomber perks as fighter perk's??? If you want to transfer perks from one to the other that for every 10 perks you transfer than you have a 3 perk penalty. or something to the effect of that.

This does sound interesting... How about doubling the price on the perked ride if you're using a different category's perks to buy that ride? Would make it somewhat fair and prevent massive abuse of the system.

Its an interesting request and it certainly would invigorate the bomber/GV war.

For the most part I am to cheap to use perks or maybe I just don't like perked equipment?? I don't know I have thousands in all categories if I could palm them off to some one else I would.

I don't see that happening anytime soon. Considering that would give crackers the extra motivation they need to start cracking people's game accounts. (No, its not a racial term.)

If you want fly perked fighters, fly free fighters and kill some ppl. If you want drive perked tanks, drive free tanks and kill some ppl. Easy, huh?

There no sense in perk categories if you can use them for different type of vehicles.

You're missing the point Oleg...

By using bomber perks to buy a perked fighter, you're at least giving the player the perception that he's got an advantage over everyone else at that time. It comes with a risk, of losing the plane and the perks, and truth be told, a Tempest in the hands of an inexperienced fighter pilot isn't really that much of a threat, is it? Just makes for a slightly faster target to kill.

I've gotten real good at hi-alt bombing...but those perks end up sitting because my only perk option is an Ar-234 with three bombs...big whup.

If you're good at all aspects of this game, this is a moot point. But not everyone is.

You're missing the point Oleg...

No, I didnt. You are not first who ask for using bomber's perks for fighters or GVs.

Its you who missed point actually. Perks are reward for your success. You must achive some results as fighter to be rewarded with ability to use perked fighters. And you dont need to be good fighter to get some perks, it just take less effort if you are.

The only problem with bomber's perks - there are no real use for them yet. If only HTC would perk drones...  :aok
