Some aircraft bugs/problems
« on: September 17, 2008, 10:18:32 PM »
F6F-5:

Rocket tabs always shown, even when no rockets are selected.

Impossible rear view... Needs more lateral head travel, head doesn't get anywhere near canopy glass.

IL-2: I only flew it with 37mm guns... However, they shoot very high, well above sight center at 400 yards. Exacerbated by fixed gun sight. See below.

not being silly, cos i know your a pro and you know what your talking about but.... what did you have the convergence set up as?

maybe try a few settings and post results? (i dont fly it).

ie see if it repeats it with guns set at 200 and the target set at 200, 300/300, 400/400 etc

ya gotta just move your head around and F10 it in the new position when you find it, since its a fixed sight..

That's not the proper way to fix it. The guns should hit the gunsight in default position.

I did notice, however, that with the 37mm I seemed to land rounds on the offline tank drones easily. I didn't test them enough to notice them *that* high off the mark, but when shooting down they seemed spot-on.

Go figure

if you look at like the weird little secondary sights on the p40, p47, its the same thing.. you have to move your head to use them

i have a dot drawn on my LCD monitor where the bullets go.. I just had to move head around  a little in the IL2 to get the dot right in the center of the sight.. i could shoot without doing that, I could just put the dot on the target.

Hit the home key to reset your head position to the default location.  If your saved head position is other than the default, the sight will be off.
