Need Help Pronto
« on: September 18, 2008, 09:41:19 PM »
Odd... I just had a major virus on my computer that completely ruined it. So I ghost the hard drives and reinstalled windows. After this I downloaded some of my programs back and aces high being one of them. Downloaded the hi res pack , all my display and control center things for video card etc. Finally I got them all back. So Im thinking wow .. finally im done. Set a system restore point obviously. Anyways , I proceed to click aces high II as I normally do. Clicked it , goes black , then logs out and says send error report. So I thought no biggy ill go to htc remove video8 file. Went there did that. Also remember I havent even ran aces high yet on the new windows install. So right when I click it same thing happends. And I go back to my htc and the video8 is back! Any idea pronto would be nice , I need my ace! :O

Run DXDIAG and check to see if you have the native video and sound card drivers installed.

ive ran that. And I go to the sounds. Then I click the sounds test , and it fails because i cant hear the little sounds it gives you.

We don't want you to run the tests. We want you to open the DxDiag menu, wait for the little loading bar to finish loading, press the, "Save All Information..." button, then open the newly saved file and copy 3/4 of the information from the top down and paste it here.

If the sounds test fails in DXDIAG, then either the volume is turned off, or the speakers are not connected to the correct port, or you do not have the correct speaker configuration in Windows, or the driver loaded is not the correct driver, or the sound card has gone bad, or you have another sound card device installed which Windows is using instead.

It could also be any combination of the above.
