Its a new day! Europe is for the first time dropping the ball (if you will excuse the pun). After the first day team USA leads team Europe 5-1/2 to 2-1/2.
Memorable moments:
The third group of pairs had just finished with America leading 5:2 (for the first time in ten years American leads on day 1). The crowd booed with great energy as Weekley took to the tee on the 12th hole. Weekley turned to rouse the crowds enthusiasm further as Westwood stared at him unflinchingly (wishing no doubt that he would desist immediately). Boo Weekley is often met by fans that boo with great enthusiasm.
Michael Jordan approached Nick Faldo (the European team Captain) and began whispering in his ear as he also massaged his shoulders.
Commentator: "He is rubbing it in."
