Southern Maryland

Looks like I am more than likeley relocating to southern MD, Pax River area.  I was wondering if anyone is familiar with the area and where a nice area to raise kids, not too expensive, good schools and commuting distance to the base would be.  I am cool with driving 30-45 min each way, but Having never been there I'm not sure how far out that would put me.

It's a nice area, my Older Sister used to live there, just a short drive from NAS Patuxent River is where she used to live.
