Karaoke
« on: September 24, 2008, 12:35:24 PM »
OK so how many of the folks in here enjoy going out with a bunch of friends, toss back a few drinks, and hop on stage and belt out a few songs? What songs do you sing and more important do you get requests? That's when you know your actually pretty decent.

I'll admit I enjoy doing so a few nights a week, and usually have a few requests from people. My most requested songs are:

Mountain Music - Alabama
Trashy Women - Confederate Railroad
Devil Went Down to Georgia - Charlie Daniels
All Summer Long - Kid Rock
Amarilo by Morning - George Straight

Other songs I enjoy singing:

Ticks, I'm Still a Guy, and Whiskey Lullabye (with a select few women that can sing the womans part) - Brad Paisley
Goodbye Says It All - BlackHawk
Never Even Called Me by My Name - David Allen Coe
Unwound - George Straight
Kryptonite - 3 Doors Down
Whiskey in the Jar - Metalica (with a few friends)

Have a few more that I enjoy singing but those are the ones I tend to sing the most.

So how many other Karaoke stars do we have?

Well I was in the Philippines when an American decided he could join in the Karaoke fun just like back home. He was shot and killed after his third warning that he was off key. Not funny.  :huh

Better be careful with that microphone. Just saying...
If you like the Sick Puppy Custom Sound Pack the please consider contributing for future updates by sending a months dues to Hitech Creations for account "Chalenge." Every little bit helps.

It is fun. We used to do it once in awhile. Lately though since we've gotten back into playing, we get together and play, and our wives sing. Lots of drinking too :)

Karaoke isn't about being good at it.  It's about drinking enough to the point that you and your friends think you're good at it!

Quote
MANILA, Philippines -- A jobless man was shot dead by a security guard for singing out of tune in a karaoke bar, police said Thursday.

Romy Baligula, 29, was halfway through his song on Tuesday night in a bar in San Mateo town, east of Manila, when 43-year-old security guard Robilito Ortega yelled that he was out of tune.

As Baligula ignored his comments and continued singing, Ortega pulled out his revolver and shot him in the chest.

Senior Superintendent Felipe Rojas said Baligula died instantly.

The security guard was detained by an off-duty policeman shortly after the shooting.

Deaths and violence are not uncommon in Philippine karaoke bars.

The popular Frank Sinatra song "My Way" has been taken off many karaoke bars in Manila after it was found to be the cause of fights and even deaths when patrons sang out of tune.

Man with mic:  [singing "my way" by Frank Sinatra. Waay off key]

Security guard:  Tumahimik ka na! (rest in peace biatch!)

Karaoke isn't about being good at it.  It's about drinking enough to the point that you and your friends think you're good at it!

Drinking part is the problem, Our domestic beer contains high level of Alcohol than allowed in the US.  Another problem is that most bars don't have private booths.  You are open to jeers and boos if you fcuk up the lyrics and tunes.  Fights usually happen because of this.

Me and my pops stopped going to bars with only one karaoke section in the Philippines because of fights (back home we call it rumble).  I swear tthere's a high chance that you might get shanked in those places if a scuffle breaks out :uhoh
