Massive strip mining, poor techniques at tunnel mining, and topside separation of ore from the bulk was what put the Mercury and lead in the water.

Nope:

Quote
Mercury is emitted into the atmosphere from facilities and vehicles that burn fossil fuel. After being emitted from smokestacks and tailpipes, airborne mercury can travel hundreds or thousands of miles before falling back to Earth through rain, snow and dry depositions. It can end up in our rivers and lakes, and can accumulate in the fish that we consume.

According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), 40 percent of mercury emissions in the United States come from coal-burning power plants.

40% is not a majority.

I should have said contribution instead.  Poor word choice on my behalf.

When I have to club baby seals in my backyard and fend off polar bears from my trash cans then I might think Al Gore is correct...
Otherwise he's just another nuttjob.

dang straight... the media and public schools are responsible for creating this false crisis.  I wish algore would be arrested for inciting a riot, we are in the midst of an energy crisis and we are the 'saudi arabia' of coal... we need to use it whenever and wherever it would save oil

Al Gore is hypocrite and a liar. Only Fox News was there when he arrived with a fleet of limos at a recent green rally after encouraging other participants to walk or ride a bicycle. Only a fool would give this man any credence.

Fortunately for Al, he only plays to democrats and liberals, a party populated with fools and morons.  They can't see the nose on their own face, much less a huge phony.

He also broke the law.

Urging others to commit a crime is a crime in and of itself.

Al Gore aside, what is your position on civil disobedience itself?  I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt for now.

Mercury is far too heavy an element even as a gas to go very far in the atmosphere. Mercury is a naturally occuring element and the current maximum limitations exceed the naturally occuring frequency of this element. This is a booby-trap left from Bill Clinton who intended to leave it for another President to deal with.

Al Gore is a self-promoting fraud no different than the old corrupt televangelists that lined their pockets by selling snake oil to their followers.

I don't care how far it goes.  I rarely eat tuna, I never eat farmed salmon, and I'd think twice before eating a shark or wild-caught striped bass.

All the more for me!  :D

EDIT: I went down that list. Environmentalists are going to scare you to death (literally). Most Americans and Europeans suffer from a lack of magnesium in their system. We have a lot of hypertension problems all over the world because of magnesium deficiencies and other health issues that are exacerbated by lack of proper nutrition and you can thank health organizations.

Mackerel is one of the best sources of magnesium. I guess its either let the lack of magnesium drive you the an early grave or die from naturally occuring elements. Failing that eat spinach!  :aok

You want a conspiracy to think about its these health mandates designed to keep us all on pharmaceuticals for life.

Gore is a delusional buffoon.  It's scary to think how close he was to the presidency in 2000, and that he was only a heartbeat away for eight years.

Al Gore aside, what is your position on civil disobedience itself?  I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt for now.

When civil disobedience is promoted to alter anything that is not factually based and is not lawful, then I am against it.

When it is for the right and good of the people as put forth in the Constitution and Bill of Rights against wrongs to those, I am all for it.  That is why the founders put forth those documents, so as to afford us protection.
