My oldest is playing on 2 football teams,Middle School and Junior Football. Practice is 1.5 hours after school, and 2 hours in the evening for Junior football total of 3.5 hours a night. He manages his homework well, carrying A's and B's so far this year.
Middle school football (7th grade) has nothing but rookies playing, and the competition level isn't nearly quite the level of Junior football so of course a 4 year veteran looks like a man among boys out there. The hits are the same, and the yardage as a tailback are tough to come by since most of these kids don't know how to block~!
Every yard my son got, he got with very little help except self determination.
His positions on his School football team:
1 string tail back
1st string Linebacker
Punt returner
2nd string Quarterback.
Some links below of his incredible game yesterday. They lost 24-25, but the score doesn't really matter at this level of play. My oldest had 50 yards on the ground, 1 Touchdown, a 35 yard punt return and a Quarterback sack. Too many tackles to count....
Pay particular attention to the number of guys that attempt to tackle him as he carries the ball, or that he knocks down on his trip to the endzone.
