It has phone-home authentication DRM, which means that the game will quit working when they shut down their spore authentication servers, and you can't install/play it offline.
That means I won't buy it. I have games that I've played off and on for 15 years now, on 10 or more computers, from companies that don't exist anymore. If they used the same style of DRM, I wouldn't be able to keep playing them.
To he11 with spore and the retards that saddled it with DRM. There are plenty of alternative uses of my time and money that don't have such restrictions.
And before anyone replies that they "fixed" the DRM, no they didn't. They still use the same DRM, it still runs in the background on your system, and it will still prevent re-installation offline or after they turn off the servers. The only thing they did was let you install it 5 times before you have to get on the phone to call and beg permission to use the game you already "bought". No thanks, that's not a fix.
