gas shortage in geogia
« on: September 28, 2008, 09:07:06 AM »
Anyone else enjoying this gas shortage we're having here? I've been riding the two fiddy ninja to work and thus far haven't run out. However, its getting worse. There are only a handfull of stations that have gas and they all have looooong lines to fill up. I may end up siphoning the gas out of my truck to fill my bike.

I hear this is only happening in some parts of the SE. Hows things elsewhere? Anybody in NE Alabama? I'm just across the border and would fill up there if I could.

No problem here in Southeast Michigan.

Sure, soon you will be demanding we go to war for oil.

I've got some family in the Marietta area, and they've said much the same thing...  Apparently the official reason is the 'winterized gas' that is supposed to be in the pumps right now.

gas here in Jacksonville, FL had dropped to 3.58 for Reg Unleaded right before IKE hit, the day it hit gas started climbing , the following day it had it 3.89 then 2nd day after IKE it hit 3.99....down in Orlando it was reported in places being 5.19 for Reg unl, the Govenor stepped up and put a clamp down on the gouging. Now reg unl is back down to 3.78.......

My Mom, up in NC, said reg unl was 5.09 for reg unl the day after IKE hit the gulf coast.......have not asked her about it lately though......

Gas has dropped about 45cents or so in the past 1-2 weeks, here in North Eastern NC.  Currently at $3.56, was $3.99 about 2 weeks ago.  Always nice to put off getting gas for a day and price drops 10 cents. :D  We have only had 1 station run out for about a day, but I think it was more of a station problem than gas problem.  Most it has ever hit here was $3.99-$4.15 depending on station.
