What's painful?  That it is typical 'gotcha' journalism?  I think that's a great term, it captures exactly what the media has going on now.

How so?  She is a public person, campaigning in a public setting, asked a question by a voter not a journalist.

This wasn't gotcha journalism, this was "hoof in mouth" disease.

Seriously, the Couric interview had more softballs tossed than a Beer-League tournament.  Blaming Palin's performance on the interveiwer is amazing!

I love how the McCain camp is spinning the upcoming debate.  How now the expectations are so low that she'll do well.

Thats like lowering the standards on test scores so more will pass.

I was a McCain supporter in 2000 and I can't begin to describe how dissappointed I am in him and his campaign now.

Palin has been steppin' on it. I'm of the opinion that she's getting too much coaching and too many rules.

The reason people liked her was because she seemed straightforward and "normal".

I think the campaign has locked her down to the point that she's robotic, talking and acting like any other slippery pol.

They better tell her to just go back to being herself and let the chips fall where they may. Trying to make her watch every syllable she utters is killing her appeal.
