Hacking the Game
« on: September 30, 2008, 12:31:28 PM »
I have been on the other side of N00bism where I suspected certain players of possibly consorting with the program after witnessing certain unlikely events that take place.

I am talking about questioning how a GV can be so damn accurate at 24 out while moving, certain ACM's that seem impossible after I did everything in my power to compete against assailant, and deadly accuracy in a 37mm in a IL2.

But instead of continuing to think this way, I started asking questions of how and why.  In the recent year I spent time in the DA with some hella good sticks.  I frustration level has never been as high as I experienced in the recent months.  Just when I thought I understood flight envelopes in different kinds of planes, I get Pwned by certain guys that have been doing it for a while.  I would briefly think, "ok, this guys is probably on the HiTech staff" because of his ability to manipulate his aircraft to do things that I do not think is possible, but done anyways.  A friend of mine called me the "Ego-Booster" because he would not have good results with his opponent so he would duel me to "boost his ego", lol.

After a while (I'm a slow learner), it started to click.  I am not quite to the level yet of my DA friends but the gap has closed somewhat.  That was because I am not afraid to ask questions and get answers and not think they have an "inside" with HiTech or "hacking."  And you'll make friends in the process (so long they don't ask for money).  Heck i was in the TA with an instructor going over some details of ACM's but I been playing more than 4 years so nothing to be embarrassed about.

Point is - I saw a post regarding an IL2 and an allegations of hacking by the IL2 pilot.  Instead of alleging illegal activity and wishing them bad, just ask the question "how can I do what you just did?"  I bet you 8/10 great sticks will take the time to explain how they got there and what you need to do to improve.   It is possible to do some of these things.  HiTech is well in tune with their own game to let hacking happen so get over it newbies and pessimists.

Final thing is for newer guys, don't worry about rank when learning to do something because you have to put yourself in the line of fire and get burned several times to learn what you need to learn.  :salute

Rattfink, did you read the post??

It's not about hacking.  It's about doing things in the game with skills (and with practice) that might, to some, appear to be game hacks.  I agree that many people are too quick to throw the "cheater/hacker" label at someone who shows above-average skills, and that not enough people stop to ask "how did you do that...I want to learn."

Check this out.........

http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,248321.0.html

There are tons of this all over the bbs. You can draw your own conclusions.

Points I absolutely support are asking questions and not automatically believing its a hacked job that performed an ubelievable feat to beat you. When ever an amazing maneuver has been performed to ultimately kill me, I usually ask just how he /she did it and then practiced on and off in the TA.

Peace, Love an Joy to all   :D
