109 autopilot
« on: October 12, 1999, 02:48:00 PM »
This is very popular issue in the arena, when 109 pilots fill the text buffer with autopilot complaints (the higher they fly, more they complain).

Yes, climbing to alt in 109 gets very tyring. It constantly drifts to the left, and if you engage autotrim at low speed and high angle of attack, the plane doesn't even try to stabilize.

Another very annoying characteristic is getting out of autotrim with joystick input. I have to deflect my joystick to the full if I want to get out of autotrim. All my dampers are set to minimum. When autotrim finally switches off, plane jumps because of full stick deflection. Not once I crashed on landing because of this. Or I augered, not being able to pull out of autotrim in time.

How about we get the WB feel of disengaging autorim with joystick input ? Just make it more sensitive to stick input, please !
