this guy is starting to make sense

Watch the video of R Paul speaking on the floor of congress this morning......

His grasp on this thing is better than, or at least more in depth than, most I have heard speaking today.

I agree with about 90% of that... (all but the part about regulation/oversight)

Didn't Ron Paul endorse all the independent presidential candidates including this lunatic?

"starting" to make sense?

He's been right all along. Hate his foreign policy, always loved his fiscal policy and strict constitutionalism. He should be the Secretary of The Treasury.

He was just pissed when he did that. He didn't want his supporters to support the republicans who snubbed him, and the libertarians pissed him off with Barr, so why not :)

I agree with you perfectly.  I believe he's dead on with his libertarianism in the US.  However everytime he opens his mouth about anything past the constitution, and you realize how much of a fool he is.

A position in the treasury cabinet would be perfect.

I like Ron Paul. He made more sense to me than any other candidate. At least in financial terms.

I even like his foreign policy. ;)

So far as I know he was the only candidate in favor of doing away with the federal reserve system.  If the government can issue a bond, it can issue a bill.

What happened between him and Barr?  Paul said he wouldn't run under a different party.

thanks for that link.  I had not seen that before and it was eye opening.  Depressing as hell but something that needs to be seen by everyone.

Paul nails it here, the bailout will not work because it addresses a symptom rather than the the root problem.  The credit crunch they've "fixed" with the bailout is a symptom of the larger problem of overspending, inflation and not living within our means...

He also draws a parallel between our situation and the USSR in 1989, which should be interesting to those who say they agree with Paul's economic policy but not his foreign policy.  They couldn't afford to maintain their global presence, and neither can we.   Agree or not, we can't friggin afford it.

I'm thanking god I don't have kids right now, if I did I don't think I'd be able to sleep at night knowing the mess we're passing on to them...
