That's it. I'm not a Cub's fan
« on: October 05, 2008, 12:22:07 AM »
Lifetime Cub fan.. grew up near Chicago.  I've never witnessed such uninspired play in my life. I could have fielded 9 seniot citizens who would have put up a better fight. Bitter?  Yes. Disgusted to the point of forgetting qbout the Cubs forver?  Absolutely.  Stink.

Well, it's not like you didn't have a precedent.

Cubs fans have always been more proud of themselves than the team.  In my opinion, they enjoy the scene more than the sport anyways.  There isnt anything wrong with that, it's just the way it is.  I should point out that I'm a White Sox fan.  They win, I'm happy....They lose, Ozzie goes nuts, and I'm happy.  Boo Yankies.

Happened to me back in '84. I had enough of losing and losing philosophies. Not that the Sox are all that much different but if you look at the history since then the Sox tend to play a higher level of ball, and, they did bring a trophy home. All in all however Pro sports kinda lost me. With the prices associated with it nowdays, the money the players and owners make, it just isn't a fans game anymore. Not any of them.

Pretty much the most I'll do now is put the game on HDTV. But I'm not consumed with MLB like I used to be.

Looking at all those millionaires in the Cubs dugout after tonights loss left me with a feeling that all of them will have no problem dealing with this seasons disaster. They have all probably forgotten about it already.

Yes, they stunk it up last night.  I'm paying more attention to the Brewers.  The decision to take out Gagne after the 8th and put in what's his face who had a terrible September was a near disaster.

Agreed.  I got the same feeling as when the Giants went into Texas Stadium and made a bunch of Cowgirls cry at the end of last season.  That was AWESOME!
