In Game Load Test AI Mission.
« on: October 06, 2008, 05:07:00 PM »
I have recently come to the conclusion that my 2003 uber gaming machine is a game dog as of October 2008 in the face of changes made to the game with recent releases. On TTuesdays my system chunks. But that is a factor of my system and not of HiTech Creations. HTC has to grow and evolve to bring us a better gaming experience. This is the nature of computers.

I have ordered the parts to build a new 2008 era gaming system. At least now its a new system every 5 years. In the Air Warrior days 1989-99 it could be a new system every 6 months to 2 years with ongoing hardware upgrades. I worked tech support for MediVison sound cards 93-95. I was sent home with sound cards to test them in as many games as I could. Air Warrior was highly encouraged by management.

My wish is for an AI offline mission that will launch you as a ride along into a 100 plane furball over a large size feild with a CV just off shore. Ack blazing, planes blowing up the whole mess. And audio chatter and text messages. Five minutes should be long enough. Then when its over a read out of how your system handled the game at whatever texture you ran the game. 128, 256, 512 or Hi res Pack.

This might be more informative to many players who have trouble with the idea that your host queue and variance delay are better indicators of how much load is on your CPU(s) and if you are reaching memory exaustion during game play. That is why I have had to do the following to my 2003 PC:

1. reduce my textures to 256
2. video card sliders to performance
3. Vsync off
4. video in game objects to performance.
5. seperate partition for my pagefile.

My host queue and varience has gone back to a flat line after doing those 5 steps.

One might speculate that Titanic Tuesday is a way for HiTech to perform community system load testing and player emotional sensitivity for change to see how large scale combat will work out in an arena with Combat Tour.

This is like the old joke that voters are harsher to their beer brewer if he has an outage, than their politicians after raising their taxes. Death and taxes are certain but, fun and sex is only now.
