As a point of order, he DOES immediately button down his emotions after the initial surprise of seeing Kirk alive.

I was reading this article on slashdot about the "just discovered" "post-traumatic embitterment disorder", and I think I understand super-villians better now.

I didn't enjoy the movie much BTW. I was expecting more after the enthusiastic reviews.

On a side note. I watched an interview with nimoy where he said that there were times that he would break down and cry after shooting because of having to "act" without any emotion was a real strain on him

They way it looks from the end of this movie, the guy playing Spock shouldn't have to worry about it.
