I'm going to wait a little longer this time, maybe tomorrow or Thursday.
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

They lost because they didn't kick the kickoff into the end zone and gave the falcons field position to do that play..... friggin ijot coaching on that play

The whole bar was going - WTH are they squibbing the kick for?

The idea is to squible the kick, "Falcons have a dangerous return guy", and then treat your own 40 yard line like its the end zone. They get the ball on their 40 and then give them any gain 20 yards or less. What you then have to do is change your defense from the cover-2 to the cover deep. The reason for that is because with the cover-2 you are playing a zone defense that is designed to allow 10 to 20 yard gains while giving your secondary chunks of the zone to cover. IE; Prevent the long touchdown, allow pass rush, use linebackers to stunt, cover, or blitz, and to use the entire defense as a take away unit to force turnovers. The cover-2 is designed to keep the ball "under" the defensive zone.

The cover-2 is designed to keep the offense out of the end zone while giving the defense the options needed to react quickly to the ball, all the while being unpredictable. Its not a good defense to use when the other team gets closer to the goal line and thats where you have to go to man to man coverage with double teaming of receivers. Ands thats basically where the Bears were. They were on their 20 yrds line cause their coaches cant count and are to stupid to realize a FG would beat them.

The entire world knew the Falcons were going to throw a 20 and out pass. It was the only possible pass they could throw that would put them in FG range, and, stop the clock. Watch that video strip again and then tell me the Bears weren't in a cover-2 trying to keep the Falcons out of the end zone? :rofl I didn't even watch the kickoff. I figured even the Bears couldn't lose this one.

They needed to put in 5 safetys/corners, rush 3, double team the 20 and out/deep receivers in man to man while bumping the receivers at the line......ie; cover-deep! With 11 seconds left the Falcons had to throw quickly cause they had to figure on 2 plays.

I couldn't believe even the Bears could be this dumb. Oh and Urlacher had only 4 tackles while Tommie Harris had all of 1.

Watching that video it appears to be blown coverage by the defensive backs more than a bad defensive coordinator call.  When you watch the second replay where the camera follows the receiver you can see the CB is out of position, hips turned the wrong way and head looking at the QB, the DB just inside was in position but also staring at the QB.  He did break on the receiver but way too late.  What they were probably supposed to do was have the CB playing man on the receiver and the other DB helping in his zone, following him to the edge of the zone and passing him off to the safety.  Instead they both let him go free which created a pocket big enough for receiver to exploit.
