Request for bomb and rocket racks on La5/7....
« on: April 01, 2001, 06:41:00 AM »
I'm sure it's been mentioned before and we know they had them.

In another thread, Tilt gave specifics on how the La's could carry a maximum of 100kgs of bombs or 8 rockets.

Would it take that long to do? The Typhoons had DTs added after a similar request.

Whats really odd is the HiTech and Pyro already agree with you.

This is quoted straight from this site's Getting Started/Plane Overview about the La-5FN

Quote
The La-5FN carries an armament of two synchronized 20mm ShVAK cannons mounted in the cowling with 200 rounds per gun. The primary trigger fires the both cannons. Underwing bomb racks can allow two 50kg bombs to be carried.

Yeah, if it carried them in RL then please allow them to do so here please.  I rather like the La5.  BTW, anyone know if the Yak 9T could carry any additional ordnance?

I guess they do have a lot on their respective plates - must have slipped their attention.

I used to fly the La-5 exclusively, now it's the La-7. I was just thinking how cool it would be to be able to jabo, and then have a quick fight afterwards. At the moment I use the Typhoon for jabo, but my dog-fighting skills in that A/C are a little rusty.
