MISS METRIC SYSTEM IN LW,IJN & ITALIAN PLANES
« on: January 30, 2000, 08:42:00 AM »
hi all
What about a realitic metric system in the
LW, IJN, and Italian planes?
i really miss it.
a 109 with "feet" and "mph" isn't a 109
please fix it.
(maybe you can make settings selectable like
in WB)

Honestly I don't.

In Warbirds, it was only semi-selectable, since it used the same gauge, just changed units and then not always.

There was a whole thread on this not more than a couple of weeks ago, and it was my impression that Hitech said that it was going to stay the way it is.

Maybe something has changed tho.

HT stated another thread that they don't make metric systems available

NO metric systems? is this a realistic
simulation or not?
is it so difficult to bring it in, or do
you say that we germany should get used to
"feet" and "mph" in our 109, and 190er?
the g10 is simulated bad enough, like the 109k4 is in WB (where is the climb rate of the g10 in AH,where is the result of the automatic wings "vorflügel in german" at low
speed? hope they work on another cockpit panel. they light grey panel looks like a..
but not like a 109.

Yes we must get used to it in Canada as well..I think that it should be the same in all planes.. so multi type formations can coordinate better.....Keep it like it is
the g10 rocks..

Don't you get it? yanks and brits won, we must use their cheap export 109s with miles and feets.
Also note "cheap export 109", it has few features rip off due to the fact that allies won and therefore 109s couldn't been better in anything compared to allies.
So, just brave yourself and die for the spits and P-51s who you can't defeat in any way, because of the fact that allies won. (how they could had lost any, if they won?)

Ps. Note that Sherman is also far more better than Tiger.... right?

Multi type formations of 190s escorting B-26s and engaging attacking Macchis and P 51s, I guess

Here, have a teaser :

By multi type formation i mean. Me in a corair and wingman in a Machi on fighter sweep. Station keeping and comms are much easier if we can talk in same units.
Are you saying above that you cannot beat a spit or P51 in a bf109g6 or g10? I have been able too..And lose in the other direction too. Are we playing the same game? Your cockpit art looks different and your FMs sound like they are different, your cannons apperantly dont work like the ones in the FW190 I fly.... maybe you are on wrong message board?

Ok, Pongo, obviously my post was too subtle for your liking. I tried to point out unhistorical nature of AH arena. You obviously did not get it. Corsairs and Macchis winging together ? Eeeeek, what a perverse twist of history

Instead, you went against me and commented my flying. Since I feel like flaming today, I compared our stats for all 4 tours:

Pongo
33 kills vs 25 deaths in 109G-10,
303 kills vs 242 deths in 190,
average gunnery 5.52 %

Hristo
578 kills vs 72 deaths in 190G-10,
212 kills vs 16 deaths in 190A-8,
average gunnery 12.12 %

It's rather obvious who has problems and whose cannons don't kill

Back to the topic:

AH cockpits are functional, but are damn ugly. Moreover, they are unhistorical in regard of units. No immersion factor whatsoever.

I knew your stats would be a good argument against your statement, but I didn not want to be boorish and dig them up.
But I knew with a little push you wouldnt be able to resist.

I dont do to bad for a guy who never played an online sim befor October...well maybe 2 hrs of AW in 1993 or so..

I hope I never have to show my stats to lose an argument though...:P

Metric System (SI), who uses it????????????

No, seriously, if I were from any country outside the US, I would be wanting SI units in the planes too.  Is there a way we can add a select units toggle in the setup menu?

Read the poster's name before you start quoting him.

I am all for a metric/english toggle for all planes.  Or seperate metric/english cockpit art downloads for the entire planeset.  I enjoy flying 190's, La5's and N1k's from time to time and I don't know a kilometer from a thermometer, so this is one case where I would hate to see it be "historically accurate" and limited to one or the other.
