PROBLEM with USB DRIVERS??
« on: October 19, 2008, 09:46:25 AM »
I ran a verifier program of which I will copy here:

5: Run Windows Driver Verifier tool:

*Close all applications.
*Start>Run> type: verifier.exe and hit Enter
*You're running this Driver Verifier utility for XP.
*Create Standard Settings>and choose "Automatically select all drivers installed on this computer"
*Proceed and see what it lists.
*If there's something wrong with a driver causing BSoD's, it'll usually give you another BSoD with the driver name included or show it: i.e. xxxxxx.sys
*Make a note of that. Look for conflict reports too.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 Now for more info..MY X-52 uncalibrates quite often and it is driving me nuts..I have a powered USB hub which it runs into,but does not seem to make a difference,I also bluescreen out with a memory dump sometimes,which says it was my saitek drivers I believe..
 SO I ran the ABOVE program and this is what I got.:
IO system verificationERROR in npusb.sys
(WDM DRIVER ERROR 21f)
[npusb.sys+6005 at BA98E005]
 This was the start-up bluescreen which the above tool speaks of,so I would restart the comp,well then I would get more of the ABOVE numbers..I got many of the driver errors.so many infact that I finally had to start in safe mode just to get the comp to start normally under windows..Here below are some of the other numbers I got,,I dont know if I got them all,but they all seemed to be tied up with the USB for some reason..
[npusb.sys+6005 at BA9DE005]
[npusb.sys+6005 at B9299005]
[npusb.sys+6005 at B914A005]
                             [BAA6E005]
                             [B6FC2005]
                             [B2FD1005]
  Anyway,I am pretty confused about what this all means at this time,and am hoping someone can put me in the right direction as far as figuring out this problem..
  This is a new build,but maybe I need to reload windows or something,IO just dont know..
                                               Thanks ,
                                                    Kevin
Here is what I would do. I would reinstall your drivers. Also, knowing that you put in a new MB I think I would do a complete system install if you haven't done that yet.
Another thing if you loaded the setup program for profiles I would delete it.
These are my best guesses right now.
It's your TrackIR driver. Uninstall TrackIR and if you can download a newer version from NaturalPoint.
npusb.sys security and file info
npusb - NaturalPoint USB - NaturalPoint
bustr - POTW 1st Wing
This is like the old joke that voters are harsher to their beer brewer if he has an outage, than their politicians after raising their taxes. Death and taxes are certain but, fun and sex is only now.
