The fact that 1Plus44 will voluntarily read a non-fiction book means he is probably already on the way to being more intelligent and educated than the public school system wants him to be.

I remember when I was down in third grade, they moved me away from the shelf where the encyclopedias were because I was reading them when I was supposed to be, um, "learning". Ummmmmmmmmmm, WTF?  :huh

wtg!

now finish the darned book! :rofl

I did, and it was more of a non-fiction than anything! Just no personal accounts...

If you get a chance read it, the detail was amazing, I've read books on the Alamo that had the exact same stuff, but this book had it into a lot more detail into it.

The other thing is BnZ, I pretty much stink at math, but I LOVE anything history related... It's all so interesting when I learn something about the past of Texas or America... I really liked the Odyssey when I read it (Fiction too, but a classic). I'm reading Beuwolf or whatever it's called ATM... It's confusing to read, but I get it for the most part.

If you want to read about Texas, read James A Michener's book 'Texas'.

He also wrote Alaska, Mexico, Centennial, Hawaii and Chesapeake.

http://www.amazon.com/Texas-James-Michener/dp/0449210928

All are historical fiction.

Eh, I think I got a Non-Fiction book next! :rock which will be GREAT for me! :devil

I'm thinking two books, you pick them out:

Fly Boys - James Bradley (I think. He's the guy who made Flags of our Fathers)
or
Citizen Soldiers - Stephen Ambrose

If you have to read non fiction, Fighter Boys is a pretty good choice. If you can choose fiction, might I suggest either 'Bomber' by Len Deighton, 'Piece of Cake' by Derek Robinson or 'Blue Man Falling' by Frank Barnard. Trust me when I say that anyone who is in to AH2 will love all three.

'On the Beach' by Nevil Shute is the last book report I remember doing in high school in the dim and distant past. Good book, if somewhat depressing.

I wasnt even in junior high when I could read 200 pages an hour. Now I have to take an interest in something to read more then a paragraph or I go to sleep pretty fast.
If you like the Sick Puppy Custom Sound Pack the please consider contributing for future updates by sending a months dues to Hitech Creations for account "Chalenge." Every little bit helps.

Count of Monte Cristo
I pulled that book off the shelf & place it up top with the "read next" books about 6 months ago. Haven't done it yet, but maybe now I will. :)  Then again...

1plus,
I like not knowing what I'm going to read next.  Start with one book & read it.  Out of that book, pick one topic, remark, historical account, or character that captures your interest. Then go get a book about that.  Then out of that book, pick one more thing & get a new book.  Then treat yourself to an ice cream sundae each time you reach 10 books read.  :D   :aok

If he's going to eat Ice Cream Sundaes based on how much he reads, he'll never have to worry about getting fat. :rofl :rofl

The more you learn about math the gladder you'll be as you get older. I won't lie to you and tell you that in all jobs, or even most jobs, you'll be using it, but mathematics opens up the whole world of science. The world is a better place the more you understand how the stuff in your life works.

Read Siege by Russ Schnieder. I usually don't agree with reviews, but this one is spot on.

"This darkly painful narrative by a writer too early dead will change you. Such is art on its highest level." -- Harry Crews

I try to get everyone I know to read it.

There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!
