No, it looks like tonight age and treachery triumphed over youth and skill.  Bottom of the 6th now, still 2-1 Phil.

I actually like umps with bigger strike zones, so long as it's consistent like it's been tonight.  The game will end in a reasonable amount of time, and batters have to swing instead of constantly trying to foul off pitches to draw a walk.

Anyone see the incorrect call at first here in the top of the 7th?  That runner was out.  Now he just scored.  You gotta love mistakes like that in the world series.

Althought the Phillies owe mother nature a 6 pack for that homerun ball that was stalled out ot left.

(Granted mother nature vs bad call isnt the same.)

I am a Rays fan so he was safe.  :D

Edit: Anyone else think the "God Bless America" was a little tanked?

Should be 4-3.  Every year I tell myself I'm not going to watch baseball anymore until they allow 1 or 2 instant replay requests per game.  It seems to work very well for the NFL and I've seen too many baseball games ruined by incorrect calls with no recourse.

Replay has no place in baseball. Not even the limited version they've instituted this year.

But that's a subject for another thread.

Errors in judgement are part of the game.  Grown men deal with it.  It'd be boring if every game was called perfectly, strikezone of Rhoad Island or not.
