AVA 10/23/08
« on: October 24, 2008, 06:46:27 AM »
Greetings,
last night saw another night of relatively decent participation in the AVA. It was a great time in my opinion and all the battles were civil.

the night started with the normal furballing between england and france. JG54 was split down the middle for load balancing purposes. as the night progressed JG54 decided to run a major mission!

First they announced their intent on 200 and then 5 boxes of JU88 took off from 49 and 4 ME 109's from 46. the allied dogs were give full warning as to the impending attack and doom. as the bombers climbed out, a few of the enemy fighters tried to pick us off. thanks to the skills of our elite fighter pilots none survived the attacks on the bombers.

our elite fighter pilots N72, storch, AZBaer, and tyrant, held the darkside at bay as the the bombers passed un-harassed. the bombers continued on to their target (117). at the Target, the drop was made and the target was carpet bombed.

after the drop, the area was swarming with enemy fighters. our fighter group valiantly fought off plane after plane in order to allow the bombers time to leave the area.

total axis losses 1 bomber airframe.
total allied losses-- staggering.

great fun last night. <S> to everyone that participated. lets do it again tonight!!

Salute to you guys for making the AvA a great place to learn and have fun  :rock. Witnessed that bomber mission at the start, but fell to Storch's guns.

2 things: Can't see 200 text on my machine. Tried unsquelching using ".u 200". What is the correct command again?

Also, Storch, you got me several times last night. I would greatly appreciate some feedback so I can improve my skills, if possible. Shane08 as well. Hope my flying high cover for you helped.

Thank you guys for holding class! It's always a learning experience when 54 is on the field!

goto your radios and where it says "country" or "all", type in 200. then you'll be able to see it. great to see you in there!

storch doesnt use this forum anymore but if you go to http://www.ahgreenhearts.org/phpbb/index.php and sign up and get on there, storch would be happy to give you some feedback.

whats a OPSEC?? we do things on the fly and we have fun. thats all that matters to us. sometimes our idea of fun is at someone elses expense, which would explain why we're not very well liked. our forum has a public and private section. not a problem!  :)

Not a problem then. OPSEC=Operational Security. Sorry about that, that's 16 years of Navy training kicking in. I forget sometimes that military speak is a different language to most people.

I was the unfortunate 109 that died valliantly protecting the bomber mission. I do know that the enemy who killed me had a cockpit full of lead and bulletholes.
