Contrails
« on: October 28, 2008, 07:13:19 PM »
I dont know if it would really have a huge hit on frame rates but I really think that the simple addition of Contrails, condinsation trails, would really add to the games appeal. Say enable them at 15k+.
TIGER, tiger, burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?

I'd like to see it added, but as an option (like animated water used to be). that way the people who don't have the computer's to handle it can just leave it off.

A lot of people would turn them on then. Why? Because everyone wants to know when and where a flight of Rooks at the stratosphere are. It's gonna be an unfairr advantage.

the game is concentrated on combat, not on shaking the screen.

It's not a very popular subject LLogann.

I'm still for it! As an option, of course. :aok

I'd be all for it. In fact I think it might help to identify targets outside of icon range, which would be interesting. I do think though it would have to be an option like others have said, some computers simply wouldn't handle it.

If you cant see the dot you cant see the contrail! And its more like a 25k thing anyway.

There is none of that in the game so it would occur probably at something like SAP which means 23-25k.

Yea, that what the allies whine about.  All the bombers wanted the contrails turn off but the brasses say no.  High commanders believe all the contrails would bring fear to the enemies.

There may not be humidity but there are types of weather so no I dont think it would have a set alt. Some places of the map it could be lower and some part it could be up higher.

It dosnt matter because humidity and temperature are fixed and dont change in AHII and the less programming required to get it working would be better then even more CPU usage.
