As I understand, the current ENY values for the P-39s were best guesses before its introduction, when it was not totally clear how they would stack up with the competition. However, after six (almost seven) complete tours, the stats show that the current values do not fit these planes very well.
If we take a look on how both the D and the Q stack up with the other planes in thier ENY bracket in terms of K/D, they both are seriously falling short of the other planes.
Now at this point I want to make clear that I am aware that in many cases a simple K/D does not reflect well on the true capabillities of a certain plane.
Let it be the Spit16 or the La7, which both are the ride of choice of many noobs with subpar flying skills, or the P-38L or P-47D40 for instance, which are both being abused as suicide bomb trucks.
However, it is safe to say the neither P-39 attracts any of these "problems". They are much of a handful for the av. noob, and the abillity to carry ordnance is in both cases weak.
Well, to show what I mean, I put together some numbers to illustrate. First the P-39D:
Average K/D ratio in LWA tours 99-104:
P-39D: 0,56
ENY30 planes combined (including P-39D): 0,86
ENY30 planes combined (excluding P-39D): 0,92
P-39Q: 0,65
ENY20 planes combined (including P-39Q): 0,95
ENY20 planes combined (excluding P-39D): 0,97
Thus, my ENY suggestion for for the P-39s would be
P-39D: 35
P-39Q: 30
Now, what this excercise good for? First of all giving the actual P-39 drivers more appropriate rewards (perks) for their sorties, especially those in the 39Q.
Secondly, when ENY rises really high (20+) it seems a bit ridiculous that the Q is being ruled aout alonside rides like the K4, 51B, La5 etc.
And thirdly, me might get a few more pilots in them for perk earning purposes, making them a bit less "hangar queens".
