The problem with H2H that those "haters" had was that it was free.  There's no guarantee it will be free when it's back.

H2H is the player-hosted format of AH.  Less players on custom arenas (maps, environment variables etc).

HTC said that H2H, when it is re-released, will only be available to subscribers ... "freeloaders" need not apply.

I also heard that it will happen on HTC servers, not player controlled.

Huge difference.

....maybe, but you'll have to live up to your name and pay up if you want to play. No freebies this time around. The freeloaders and griefers are the ones who got it pulled in the first place.

H2H provided the incentive for new terrain builders to test their ideas and get feedback on possible errors. Since H2H was canceled the Terrain forum has been nearly dead, and without new terrain builders you see fewer new terrains produced for any of the arenas. That's the number one reason to be happy about H2H's return.

It also provided a place for scenario and squad practice, something which is sorely missed.
Easy in-game again.

If you read closely, you will notice it's the last thing Pyro mentions. Also, none of the HTC staff ever mentioned when H2H will return.

So it seems to me, the return of H2H is a lower priority at the moment.
