CH Joystick broke!!

I don't frik-kin beleive it!!

I have .. er .. had .. a CH Fighterstick.
Have had it for ..sheesh .. was one of the first ones made with USB an such?

So ..I sit down at the comp, look around for it cause I know it's here ..somewhere .. close.
Under some paper at the side of the case ..what the heck!! .. the shaft is broken off right at the base??
Man ..that stick is very well made and extremely tough, no way did it just 'fall' and break.

Grr-rr.

My neice, just entering teens ..apparantly knocked it off the desk, then proceeded to STEP on it, breaking it,
..*then* put some paper over it so I wouldn't notice it!!
.. all I can say is 'where's my SHOTGUN!!! ..I want PEICES PARTS and BLOOD SPATTER!!'

ok ok ..it was an accident.
I should be more adult about it than loadin my SHOTGUN with DOUBLE-OUGHT and chasin her down.
I guess.

Yup.  in fact I ordered mine at 6:00 PM one day.
Left my house at 8:30 the next morning to walk my daughter to school.
Suddenly my daughter says. "somone left a box on the porch"
I hadnt even noticed I walked right by it.
"no chit. wonder what the hell it is. couldnt be my stick I just ordered it last night"

Picked it up and looked at it. Sure nuff. It had arrived.

Don't have kids, eh?  After a while you realize that nothing you have is truly yours and getting super upset will just shorten your lifespan.  You learn to just shrug and move on...  I would show her that I was more upset over the fact that she tried to cover it up rather than actually breaking the stick.

Sounds like you've had it for a while anyways.  You probably were looking for an excuse to look at a new one.

I still had a flash of anger when I found the stick broken, under some paper.
There was a time long ago when I would have chosen to lose my temper and slam doors an the like.

Nowadays, -shrug- .. I choose not to.
I told her mom no more unsupervised use of my computer.
Adult has to be in the room.
Done deal.

I told the neice why.. and said if she chooses to ignore that requirement I will put a lock on the door
that only I will have the key for.

My version of 'go ahead, make my day.'

As for writin a sob story to CH:

It was just sittin there mindin it's own bidness when 'tink' ..the shaft just broke off!!

It was like ..dude, ima break right off just sittin here!!'

Or mebbe post that nice pic of the shark stuck into the roof of that house
and tell 'em that was like a bullseye right into my computer room and it broke my stick!

Don't need to write a sob story, just call them up and request a RMA so you can send in your stick to replace the gimble or have them send you out a new one so you can replace it yourself.
