Offline God's Eye Mode

I've forgotten how to initiate God's Eye Mode.  Working on some squad stuff offline and need to scoot about the map.

Someone tick off the steps plse.

*Use CM-eye [F5] mode to enjoy the action after you die!*
You may have to set up CM-Eye for it to work, here's how.
There are a few ways of course but it is easier to set up
a 'Mode 3' and use your joystick buttons and throttle.

1) Go into Options > Controls > Map Controlers
2) Open the Mode Selection menu, select 'Mode 3'
3) Hit the 'Copy Mode 1' button
4) Select Button 0, set to 'View CM Eye Move Forward'
5) Select Button 1, set to 'View CM Eye Move Backward'
6) Select Button 2, set to 'View CM Eye Move Map'(optional)
7) Go to 'Map Keys' and set an available key to
select Mode 3.

I personally set it to the * on the keypad.
However, there are other keys you can use.

CM Eye should now work.
Hit F5 from the Tower, then your key to enter Mode 3.
Joystick buttons 0, 1 and 2 will move you around in CM Eye.
Your throttle controls how fast you move.

Right, found Tower Gods Eye.

Got it checked and a value of 35 shows.  Saved it.  Still nothing.  Something will shake out, I hope.

The directions as lusche gave me.  I've no clue why it's not working on my end.  Throttle works fine in game and shows okay in controller's menu.  Also, view mode flags shows enabled.  Who else has had similar problems, and found the step omitted etc?

It works offline, right???  Maybe that's the problem.

Well, something changed.  Mapped M key.  With it depressed I can zip about, but at lower than tree top level.  How do I alter my altitude or what I seeing so I'm not looking straight down from 50 feet?

A bit more progress.  Does CM View maintain a constant altitude above the ground, and does one always look straight down?

Something is still not right.  You should be able to hold the 'View CM Eye Move Forward' button and rotate the camera 360 degrees in any direction with your stick, and zoom around to any point in space using the throttle to control your speed.  Are you certian you are pressing the key to switch to the control mode that has the CMeye controls mapped?  You should get a orange text line when you switch modes.

Don't recall an orange mode change message.  Funny how not right yet things can be with computers and the users.  The button on joystick that I mapped CM Map to does not cause the same result as when I mapped the M key on the keyboard. 

Might check things stickwise in Windows.  All the buttons show inside the game as functioning.  The 2 CM movements forward and back, I've not gotten to do anything.

Hap, in CM eye mode, stick controls where you look, but you have to be pushing a button. Either forward, or reverse.
Otherwise nothing moves. Its full 3 axis, so rudder is often quite handy.
Throttle controls speed, so if your zipping too fast pull the throttle down to idle, or very slow.

Takes a bit of practice but its fairly intuitive once you get past having to have a control active to move.
