I will NOT divulge for that is what the Original Poster wished to begin with.

I agree as well, the post was not to flame the person, but to bring to light the loophole of what can happen when someone does this intentionally or not.

kind of a stupid thought, but being from the SUICIDE DWEEBZ i can tell you how we would have handled it.

either continue to take off from the CV and fight who ever attacked it, allowing us to continue to do what we love to do the most, furball.

or

swapped sides and attacked the CV and anyone upping from it until it was sunk.

either way, we would have fought the fight for the fun of it.

but we aren't really known for our intellect and brilliance are we? (well Jetsom isn't, but i didn't want him to feel like i was singling him out and throwing him under the bus)

This whole post is ridiculous!

If you are making accusations, make a bloody accusation!! the whole "somebody did something dishonorable, but I am not going to say who" is just plain juvenile. The way to stop players from doing these kind of things is, number one, PROVE it, and number two, show your proof to the community and let the dishonorable player face the "music". If your allegations are of "cheating" this is not the way to deal with it... film it and email the film to HTC.

If I had a nickle for every time the shore battery was unavailable and an unknown player was in and not firing at the CV off shore I could pay for my subscription for the next 6 months. That's the way it goes! it's not cheating and I don't like it one bit. I have filmed it and have shared my observations with my squaddies.

If you feel strongly enough to post a subject about it on the BBS, then "man up" and tell what you think you know, Otherwise...

Maj,
There were no accusations made, they were the facts of what happened.  Nowhere did the "C" word come up until you just brought it up.  The point has been made, thats Man enough for me.

This issue has come up enough times that I wonder if/when HTC gets tired of it, the only maps that will be approved are ones without carrier fleets.

What about if you switch sides you can't control any CV for an hour...

I just write S.A.P.P. with it... then anyone can have it. I used to have an Etch-A-Sketch but it broke.

Well, this post just about confirms my suspicions...S.A.P.P members really are a bunch of Red Skelton wanna-be's.    :rofl

If I were to post this I'd name the screwball who did it.

I dont really believe in bringing in-game problems to the boards, and even dont much believe in naming names, but Ive done it a few times when I felt strongly enough about it.

This is one such time. Only a real screwball would pull a stunt like this. Its outright cheating is what it is, and in a dooshbuggery way as well.

You were a Bish that made a good attack on a port, sunk the CV, grabbed it when it came back up, and defended it even tho the enemy grabbed back the port. You then set sail for safer waters while plotting your next course of action. So then some Rook or Nit changed sides, grabbed the CV, aimed it right back at the port, and even worse at the PT boat spawns where it could easily be sunk?

No doubt the entire time updating his partners in crime on the comms?

Boy, and I thought I'd seen it all. Frankly many players cheat rather openly and apparently aren't afraid of retribution. I say name the cheater. This is an easy one!

What about if you switch sides you can't control any CV for an hour...

Good idea, but potentialy a pain in the arse when their intentions are for good (somoene coming on for the evening and starting up a CV to take out some enemy bases before they go to bed in 2-3 hours).

I was thinking since it's ranked base, have it so when someone takes over a fleet they essentialy take responcibility for it (even if they disco or change sides imediatley before plunging the CV to it's doom).  Have the success (or failure) of the CV they assumed command of then impact their score.  I bet this would happen a lot less if by the second waypoint the CV you took over gets sunk, you get a penalty that takes you from #10 to #200.  It could also stir intelligent use of CVs, say a CV participates in 5 base takings before it's sunk, the person who took command of the CV and who chose the fruitful coarce could see a decent rank boost.  If a CV only took one or two bases, have it result in no or minimal change in rank.

The player and I spoke tonight and he did in fact have a legitimate family emergency, this would explain his AFK.  He apologized for any inconvenience it may have caused us.  I in fact would have done the same thing in his situation.   :salute

This should bring to light a need for a timer of some sort so that this would not affect the game in the absence of someone AFK for any reason.
