I can't bring myself to buy it, because it's such a rape of the Fallout series. They took something I loved and dumbed-it down to reach the large T-for-Teen audience, and in doing so abandoned what made the games great. :(

It's not a 'dumb downed' version of Fallout and it quite faithful to the original two games.  The RPG elements are just as rich in 3 as they were in 1 and 2, the only really difference is the move from an isometric view to first person/third person view.

I just started playing. I just met up at the radio station with the BoS.

Is it possible to join the Brotherhood of Steel and get one of those armor?

I did a quest where I had to help the BoS retake the Galaxy radio station and found a dead BoS and looted his power armor.  Since I didn't have the certification to wear it, I gave it to my ghoul companion along with the mini-gun and Fatboy launcher.

One hint, do not give your companion the Fatboy as he will always use it in close quarter combat.

Does this game have a two player co-op option, like in Resistance?

Well, then..

In fact, it has one of the more interesting aspects of bioshock, you find tapes on logs of long dead people that are disturbing, and interesting.
They tell back-story that is just back-story, like the relief volunteer logs that track the efforts to help fallout survivors until the teal leader herself dies from it.

Your reading the logs from a tent inside a refugee camp filled with skeletons, creepy... but very cool as well.

Even the weapons and other items in the world totaly remind me of Fallout one and two.   They really did a great job on the game.

I'd rather wait for Gears of War 2 or Call of Duty: World at War.

In Megaton, you can get Jericho as a companion as long as you have negative karma but he'll stay with you even if you get your karma to Good levels.  Big Town you can get another companion if you rescued the citizens from the Super Mutants but he's annoying and I ended up killing him "accidentally" when my Lincoln Repeater went off 4 times when it was "accidentally" aimed at his head.  Surprisingly, I didn't get negative karma for killing him.  In the Citidel, you can get a Brotherhood of Steel companion but they'll only hang around if you're good.  The one I got, Charos, I found in the ghoul city Underworld.  I bought out his contract from one of the merchants and is the one worth getting just to see Charon's "goodbye" to the merchant that I bought the contract from.  In the Scrapyard you can pick up a dog (Dogmeat) that doesn't count towards your companion count so you can have a companion and the dog.  You can use the dog to fetch you items and he'll also alert you to nearby enemies but you have to watch his health and feed him stimpacks when his health is low.

There is a junkyard you can pick up dogmeat at.    You can buy a slavers hooker girlfriend, and you can get a supermutant budy as well.

I found Dogmeat, but his constant panting irritated me so I sent him away. Thanks for all the other companion tips!

Oh, and yes you can get the BoS armor suits, you need to follow the main questline a ways and they train you (As long as you have Neutral/Good karma AFAIK).

Now there is an idea for AH :D

If you get bad karma there is no ch200 for you. If you get horrible karma there is no comms whatsoever :D

Oh yes... and I decide what karma levels people get :)

In the Citidel, you can get a Brotherhood of Steel companion but they'll only hang around if you're good.

She's a good cannon fodder. I always lure enemies to shoot at the companion and then proceed to take out the enemies from behind cover. Saves alot of precious stimpaks and the companion can instantly self heal after the combat is over, just to do it again around the corner. The super mutant companion, Fawkes, is not only a huge cannon fodder, but can also pulverize the enemies in no time with his gatling laser.
