4882 RANK in bomber field captures....

If you look back you'll see that membership (as defined by "0" score #'s) was roughly 4800 st the end of 07 (tour 95){I have 4816} and then trended up to a peak of 5900 {I have 5922} before dropping back down to the current 4882 (which I have as well). So what we're seeing is the normal response to an advertising cycle.

I do think the real question is the effect of stagnation on the "hardcore" rank and file who pay to play the current game. Would HTC be better served in continuing to develop planes, vehicles and terrain for both MA and scenario use vs evolving a "new" game (my answer is yes).

In my mind the single biggest thing HTC could do is create a "1st person shooter" component in the game. I'm not certain if it would destroy game play or not but no doubt I get a hoot out of playing storm trooper with my .45. God help us if we ever get a true single person "ground game" going. I'd love to be able to load up a jeep with some squaddies and go wage war on an airfield...

It couldn't compete with the standards of other leading FPSes. Players wouldn't come to AH because of this component, nor would existing players get more kick out of it than out of more planes and updates like Pyro mentioned.

What's the highest (worst) ranking in any of your categories? I don't see anything above 4882 for last tour.

I'm not sure how that's possible for last tour...Here's my rankings...

Fighter - 1028
Bomber - 1626
Attack - 906
Veh./Boat - 19
Overall  - 484

I obviously focused on GVs this tour to prove a point to someone.

I normally do a little bit of everything in game, and I noticed my ranks weren't as bad as I expected. Looks like we lost more than a thousand since summer began. Interesting.

I wondered about that, but with the (apparently) sudden canning of CT and talk of gameplay changes and updates and such, I figured subscriptions must have taken a dive. Being gone since early July, I wasn't sure when the numbers declined, or if it was just the annual unloading of squeakers and two weekers.

It means you have been found to be completely lacking anything which might otherwise be ranked, so... yes.

4882?  I was 4882 in vehicles and boats 
oh, and 5883 overall....

...and 6491 in fighters which seems to be the true "bottom" for tour 105.

Hmmm, perhaps we've just lost one group of players, and picked up another. No way to tell for sure, and I'm sure HT is happier that way. 6500 people active... that makes a big number.

I find it odd there would suddenly be drastic changes for no reason. CTs been years in the making- what's another year or two at this point?
