To me they jumped the shark with the death of 'Rocket' Romano.  What a freaking joke that was.

Agreed. Even that was a shark jump from the helo crash in the junkyard a few years before.
This will be a post mortem jump for Mark, but he was a primary character when the series began. I always expected it to wind up with his daughter becoming a med student at County General.

Ditto on Mark Green, nothing good on that show since.



I have to say if you never read the Jurassic books give them a try... the movies were awesome, the books 100 times better. I think seeing the movie first gives you a mental picture of the creatures that just couldn't be imagined without. Saying that, if they followed the book in the first movie it would have been 3 hours, and rated R. even John Hammond falls down a hill and gets eaten by compys in the first book.

I saw the movie first then read the book.
When I was done. I was pissed they didnt make the movie that was the book.
Great movie. Better book. But its not even really the same story.

One part they nailed perfectly int he movie though.
 Malcom  (the mathematician) was every bit as annoying in the book as he was in the movie.

Was timeline the one about the guy who kept dieing and re-upping back in time again? Remembering everything? Yeah, I read it. But I cant remember how it ended. I read most of Crichton's books thru the years, being part of the lost generation that actually grew up reading cause TV kinda sucked and there were no electronic games.

My favorite, wait,....... no Timeline was the one where they go back in time to the middle ages. Yep, I read that one too. My favorites were probably Congo and Eaters of the Dead. The best movie from one of his books was probably "Disclosure", "Demi Moore didn't hurt it". I Loved the movie "The 13'th Warrior" too, which is from Eaters of the Dead. But...the Vikings were my people.

Crichton was not only a great writer but he also knew the kind of imaginative topics people would like to read. AND he consistantly wrote winners. Im sorry he's been lost.
