well just finished a 3 hour session with Rahul and he has determined my video card is defective and dell is going to send me a new one. Hope thats it. But dang looks like they could have figured that out afer the first few sessions.

Flat... If card was defective, you probably would get no screen on boot.

If card is bad, there are great deals out there. ATI 4650 $90 and Nvidea 9800 $149.

well the replacement is supposed to be in the mail so I guess I will just see if that fixes the problem  for now.

WOW!!! resolution at 1440x900 at 60 Hz?
Try changing it to something like 1024x768 at 75Hz
or 1280x1024 at 60 Hz

Am I reading that right? Generic monitor drivers? Vista will never work right with that.

the resolution thing was just where the dell guy had set it and I failed to change that, I will have them look at the moniter drivers when they help me install the new video card.
