Why can't fighters refuel/rearm at VB ?

Why can't planes refuel/ rearm at Vbases ???

Make it challenging ! Small runway and tricky to land ! Obstructions on the side that requires the pilot to steer straight otherwise ya lose your wing !
Fuel up from 45gallons drums. 45sec instead of 30sec !
Minimum quantity only. If teamates refueled before you, you're out of luck for the next 10minutes or so....

Because it is a vehicle base and a veh base is not equiped with aviation supplies or personel to perform the refueling or rearming of a plane.

An airfield is able to perform the same on a gv becuase anyone can refuel a jeep, tank, etc.

At least, that is my educated opinion.  ;)

This is all about trying to get your plane back into the furball more quickly.  Vbases should remain as they are for these purposes

That's why I mentioned making it "limited" quantity....
No personel to work on the plane, pilot does it himself !   Takes more time !  45sec - 60sec, instead of 30sec

I'm sure during the war years, some pilots landed at small depots/farm/villages and found some fuel to pump in their kites.....

noooo, they dint just "land" and refuel themselves.  There is far more things going on when refueling a plane than you think.  It doesnt take standard petrol, ya know.  ;)  Re-arming?  Piltos dont know the first thing about linking the ammo belts, or mounting a bomb (they make have watch it be done, but that doesnt mean thay can do it).  I doubt one man could load a bomb anyways... 500lbs is not light.  Ditto for rockets, etc.

Move on to the next topic please.   :)

Its just sometimes airfields are so far away from Vbases...
It would be tricky because a plane could lift from base and surprise the advancing gv's..

Maybe fuel available, not ammo. See your point regarding pilots not rearming their own  :aok

wha? I'm the only one that has landed an A20 at a vbase and waited for it to start flashing?  :D

i seen X(1701) roll a 25 around a gv batttle on the ground with no wings, and kill gv's, so it's definately doable..

Once I waited behind the indestrustable in a 25 until the Panzer and M4 rolled onto the base. when they heard me start up the engines they scattered into the middle of the field and I shot both of them on the ground.

Many times they are far away from airfields for a reason. Usually to prevent or discourage planes from going there. If you think they are far away now, just wait.   :t

Aviation fuel would not be available at a GV base in any quantity. So, I don't think it should be available here in any quantity.

If I land and wait at a GV base it's not for the GVs. It's for the bombers that come there. :)
