This is not a troll, some of us actually enjoy reading a positive spin on this game.

:salute on getting LYNX. He's a former squaddie of mine and a good pilot.

No kidding! :) I can't seem to hit anything head-on so I don't even try to shoot. I just weave to avoid incoming fire and hope the angles are a bit better the next time. I still need plenty of practice.

Nice posts, good reads.

It sounds like in that turn-n-burn you had with the spit in the evening you weren't using your flaps. If you're in another turning war and aren't going that fast, try experimenting with your flaps (it will help you turn better, but unfortunately slow you down and eat up whatever energy you might of had without using the flaps). Also keep an eye on your opponent's flaps, in a slow and tight turn-n-burn you should easily see if they got their flaps down or up. This is a good indicator on what your enemy is planning to do next, and knowing what your enemy is planning on doing next can give you the winning edge.

I just experimented a bit with my flaps during a fight. It seems to really slow me down, but lets my Hurricane turn just a little better. I think I'll have to use it selectively.

Some planes can use the flaps without as much of a lost of speed.

For example, flaps are pretty much required for turn-fights in aircraft like a P-51.

Crazy, you actually know the name of your moves... when I first started, I didn't even know where to shoot! :P
I'm Sector95 in-game! :-D

See, many of my kills are against P-51s who come zooming down on me but can't turn as well as I do. It's when I start fighting really good Spitfire pilots or Zekes that I get into trouble.
