I'm sure this is nothing new - but I for one am getting irratated by off-map flights, especially on this new terrain. Any bloody fool can launch a lancaster and fly it with near impunity to an enemy HQ via the outside of the map, regardless of how organised the defense is. Given that these flights are almost largely "afk" on auto-climb, this is pure gaming, and should be stopped (imho). The same applies to being able to position CV's off map.
Possible (?) solutions:
Once an aircraft strays outside of the map..
1. put the aircraft in a 4000fpm descent rate, to persist until such time as it re-enters "legal" airspace. Player (elevator) control inputs cease in "illegal" airspace. In the case of CV's, they should be caused to commence steaming back to home port via most direct sea route.
2. Permit up to 10 minutes (per flight) of "illegal" airspace flight, during which a coloured warning text shows that you are in "illegal" airspace. After 10 minutes, your guns will not fire, nor bombs drop until u re-arm at a friendly field, or re-plane. This has the benefit of allowing fights to occur near the map edge with accidental straying to off-map not being punished, but persistant use of off-map to evade detection being precluded. In the case of CV's, disallow off-map positioning by causing the off-map areas to be considered "land" for waypoints.
Possible? Desireable?
