Ta 152 drop tank performance
« on: November 13, 2008, 07:31:59 AM »
Since  the TA 152H's update, the plane loses ~4mph speed (tested on the deck) when having initially carried a DT and dropped it when compared to a "no DT" configuration at takeoff. (Tested with 0.001 fuel burn multiplier at 200ft)

This shouldn't happen, and as it was correctly modeled before the TA 152 revamp, I consider it being a "bug" ;)

As also shown in http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,230982.0.html (for graphical reasons then) the TA hat no conventional DT mounting. Instead of the usual and common ETC 504 (FW 190D-9 for example) it used a permanently installed 503-B, with negligible drag after DT was gone.

I had noticed your post about the low drag mount for the ta152 drop tank in the other thread a day or two ago.

Had a great time flying it, took 50% with the dt.  Since I don't fly the plane often I can't really contribute to this specific discussion.

Would be great to get those few mph back if thats the way it should be modeled though.
