Ok there are how many flight sims on the market that just support base capture....

Time to add something new!!!!!!!!

I just came back to AH after a couple of months off, woah new planes and vehicles... hmm still the same game though..

Here's an idea: (maybe not new)

Convoys, both land and sea.
  Sea convoys start at some point on the map, and travel to say a countries port.  The convoy consisting of (for example) 4 destroyers with player mannable AA, and 8 merchant ships.  PT boat spawning permitted.  For each merchant ship that makes it to the port, an increase in "productivity" points for that country.  These productivity points directly affect a countries base rebuild times.  and Or even base hardness.  
Make the route for the convoy variable, be it by player adjustable waypoints, with start and end fixed, or have several fixed routes that the convoy can choose at random at spawn.  Possibly have a new convoy launch every half hour to a max of say 2 convoys at sea per country at any time.

Land convoy: time to travel maybe an issue with land convoys, perhaps supply depots could be placed within a country's borders as departure points for land convoys to reduce the distance they must travel.  Same route idea for the land convoy, M16 spawns permitted, no fixed AA with the convoy.

All friendly convoys marked on the map.

Also Land convoys could be in place between a country's factories and HQ, the more trucks that make it, the stronger the HQ is.

Railroads could be inserted in lieu of truck convoys between factories and HQ, with fixed AA.

Overall, more strategic targets would be great.

The above ideas I think might make the game more interesting for the strategist players like myself, it would also encourage convoy escort/destruction, and give players an alternative to fur and base suppression.

I like that Ideah good thinking gladz U thought of it but I am more for the trains more fun that way and less ground clutter involved.

Railroads!

...plus perk points  

More succesful railroads - less perk points needed.
Railroad in bad shape - planes gets perk points.

How about having perk points for ordnance too, so that bombs would cost something under poor supply conditions.

any suggestions for strat is not only an excellent marketing tool, but great to maintain customer base as well.

Actually the only drawback to trains is, that 1 aircraft can kill the whole thing.  Take out the engine then take yer time clearing the cars.  If railyards were implemented as well (multiple) that would give us another strat target.

I don't like railroads between bases, because I feel once a base is overrun how rea;istic is it for an enemy train to resupply a base....

Vehicle convoys give us something infintely able to defend itself,  and enough targets, (8-12 trucks + m16 spawns for example) that it may take at least a small group effort to destroy.

I think hiding porn in each base, a different theme per base, would be an incentive to expand and maintain control.  Also will help get people to sit at the base for lookout.

Seems that gameplay enhancements like above aren't whats wanted afterall, by those who at least read this board.  Such a small response makes ya wonder....

exactly ripsnort, and its the constant claims that the 'majority' wont like the added hardships of adding anything that requires thought to attack that seems to have stopped any of these sort of suggestions being implemented.The claims that their 40 minutes a month would be ruined because they would have to think tactically and not be able to find the fight etc.Challenge drives customers away right?what a crock!    :)
Well as you know ive decided to leave them to their simple version and go look for my fix of strat elsewhere    :(. problem is there isnt anything for me apart from boxed games and WW2ol isnt available in the UK so thats out of the question at the moment too.
skurj i think we barking up the wrong tree with this kind of thing.
