i've worked my butt off in this game to get into the top 100 in fighter rank

You obviously haven't spent much time studying how to "game" the game.  Top 100 in any rank is pretty easy once you figure out how to maximize your score in each category.  It by no means will be much fun though.

Maybe he means "top 100 without gaming the game?"  Top 100 in fighters doesn't mean much because any tard can vultch and only look for fights where his side is attacking (but I'll admit I still vultch now and then).  That's why I like the fights in Tank-Town/Fighter-Town on the large island map: the three country dynamic generally prevents vultching and one side totally beating up the other.

Just fyi, I think the scoring aspect of the game gives absolutely no insight into how skilled a player is.  I know that top 100 anything in the ranks means diddly.

I met up with one of our top 25 ranked fighter pilots the other night.  He was in a K4 BnZing friendlies over a friendly vbase.  I came in in a K4 myself with a few K alt advantage.  He saw me coming from outside icon range and took off running.  As I hit icon range he started stick stirring like a n00b.  I chopped throttle, waited and when he finally quit stirring the stick and tried a break move I nailed him in full profile with my 30mm.

Definately NOT a top 25 fighter pilot regardless what the rank says.
