Film Viewer 2.0
« on: November 19, 2008, 09:00:28 AM »
I use the film view as a training tool and here are a few ideas that would improve its usefulness.

1. Different color trails for aircraft (user selectable, either friendly/enemy (2 color) or per plane (8 color))

2. Adjustable length of trail.

3. User selectable icon information (airspeed, altitude, G-Load)

4. Variable trail colors based on a parameter (airspeed, or G-Load)

There's a lot more than just that which would make the Film Viewer useful. For example, being able to use Windows Media Video codecs to export films. Better documentation. Being able to use the Film editor as an actual editor by importing clips from other films, getting the views you're after, then saving your work as a film-viewer project.

I'm certain some other people who actually use the FV will chip in at at a later time. :aok

Just a simple way to add a voice over track would be golden for me.

Some of my training films are voiced over.  It wasn't difficult.  How's that for service?

Hmmm....  I've fiddled with the capture button and haven't been able to voice over yet.  I must be doing something wrong.

EDIT:  Figured out what I was doing wrong.  ::slaps forehead::
