« on: November 19, 2008, 11:31:25 PM »

Just so you know, salutes using the ".salute (gameid)" will come through even if you are not tuned to 200.  The salutes you won't see are the ones where they say simply "<S> phatzo" (meaning they manually type it in instead of using the dot command).

you may quickly regret your choice to start monitoring 200.

some times all is calm and all is quiet, it is actually pleasant and kind spirited.

but those are rare days, few and far between.

the overwhelming majority of the time the constant character assassination, derogatory comments, whines and cries of the unfairly murdered masses (by means of HO pick vulch better acm ect) and just all around useless and unending babble of insults will make your eyes bleed!

so in the event you should regain the wisdom of your pre200 naivety and stop monitoring it, i <SALUTE> you now in case you should ever miss me saying it on 200.

PS don't confuse what i say to imply that the above mentioned harassment of each other on 200 is done with anything less than true brotherly love, but it is definitely tough love!

I actually turned 200 off tonight for the first time in weeks.  It was definitely a better play experience for me.  I hadn't realized how annoying the 200 BS really is until it wasn't there anymore.  I may leave 200 off.

200 is a venue for peeps to say things they wouldn't dare utter while playing, say, a (rl) game of basketball, because they would actually run the risk of facial feature rearrangement if they did so.
"Crikey, sir. I'm looking forward to today. Up diddly up, down diddly down, whoops, poop, twiddly dee - decent scrap with the fiendish Red Baron - bit of a jolly old crash landing behind enemy lines - capture, torture, escape, and then back home in time for tea and medals."

Normally I don't tune 200. I find the whines and baiting on 200 to be a little over the top at times.
And to think when I first arrived in AH I was told that macros were verboten. I enjoyed those a lot more than the drivel on 200.

phatzo tune 200 if you like, but I recommend keeping it off. Like Newman5 said if someone really wants to salute you they can use the .s command.

200 is better than Oprah, Jerry Springer, and Steve Wilkos combined.  I don't say much on it, but it keeps me laughing all night long.    :)
