Joystick throttle and paddock question.....
« on: January 24, 2001, 10:36:00 AM »
I have a Microsoft Percision Pro joystick, seems to work fine, but stick throttle I noticed is either 'full' on throttle or 'no' throttle at all, there is no adjusting it in between?

For some reason my key board throttle keys won't work at all, my joy stick throttle seems to be over riding it or something. Even though they looked to be key mapped right.

Also: I hit F11 for my paddock view when I'm flying. but it never works either even though it looks to me k mapped right also...any ideas anyone what I need to do to fix this?

Thanks all for any help

If it is an analog stick, calibrate it in windows, and then in AH.

If it is USB, (and you are using the USB) and you still have problems, then try calibrating it from within AH.

Not sure on the padlock, as I don't use it.

Thanks for the feedback, I found I hadn't moved the throttle when I configured it in AH so thats why it wasn't working right, seems fine now, although I still haven't figured out still how to get the paddock view to work...thanks for the help!

Uzzi,

You need to do two things to get padlock to work in AH.  First, you need to map the keys, but I think you have done that.  Second, you need to put AH into padlock view mode.  Then when you get an enemy contact in your view, you hit the "padlock" key that you mapped and your view should now follow this target.  If the target moves to an area where you can't see him due to an obstruction like your seat back, the padlock will disengage and you'll look forward again until you can maneuver to have him in view once again.

Practice this offline.  You will need to toggle the friendly padlock to get this to work against planes with a green icon.
