Sea Hurricaine

The Hurri IIc was used from British carriers. May we have the Sea Hurri IIc?

Isn't there some question about the sturdiness of the Hurricaine in-game being a bit over modeled?  If that's the case, maybe that issue should be addressed first.

I'm not saying that it is, just that I have heard there is an issue and would like to see it addressed first rather than be compounded.  That is, if there is an issue.

If you ever get to look at somr of the photos of hurricanes in the Battle of Britain
you will see just how strong they were.
Remeber the rear is still fabric so bullets tend to go through it more unless they hit a structure.

Hurris were very strong - the real Sgt Holmes sliced off the tail of a Do17 during the BoB using his Hurri's wing, which remained intact, although it did damage the aileron so he had to bail. :)

There were obsolete Hawker Hurricanes that were catapulted from merchant ships, these certainly were not able to land back on the ships.

But the Sea Hurricane was a fully operational carrier aircraft. Complete with an arresting hook it operated from carriers in a normal fashion.

An image of a Sea Hurricane with its hook lowered:

This isn't about Sea Hurricanes so much as it's about an unperked carrier bird with 4 20mm cannons :)

And the Sea Hurricanes were operated off of escort carriers9 A grand total of 2 escort carriers I believe)that were part of convoys, not as birds that went into combat off the beaches

A little more history:

This aircraft saw much more service that some of the planes already in the game.

Lately I've been on a number of CV doing that "next to the shore base attack thing".

It suddenly impressed me that if the seafires we were flying had 4 - 20mm, we would sweep the skys by virtue of how 4 - 20mm work in this game. I took up a Hurri IIc with bombs days later to jabbo a panzer and the light bulb went on. I always see FM2's make it to town trailing hoards of defenders before they die. If you could up 12 Hurri from the CV with bombs close to shore....... Rapid deacking and 2-500lb bombs for buildings or GV. Turns tighter than almost anything.

But then HiTech could give us coal for christmas and enable the Hurri MkI on CV as hanger swabber.

I think the Hurri IIc enabled on CV for Christmas would liven the CV game up a bit. I know a good number of my Pigs would up it enmass and put it to good use oinking enemy feilds. It's a solid short range tool suited to throwing low level at a base attack from a CV.

At least you are honest :)  The problem from where I sit is that the Hurri IIc in particular is far more effective then it should be with those 4 20mm cannons and it becomes an easy way out to doing the work.  It's all about the cannons and nothing else and as near as I can tell the hitting power of the IIc is greater then any of the other 4 cannon birds.l

Leave it as is, and make the cv guys have to work for it, instead of giving them something to make it easier

Since the Pigs on the Wing are a Knights forever squad, I'm trying to gin up tools for Nitland to help us in spite of ourselves. Most knight big mission CV base taking if at all, takes place very late at night with RacerX or FBDred leading a pack of willing knights and a "strategy". If I logon early, I watch the knights park a CV on top of a base and never get it down for 4-6 hours. And there will be 20 or so knights fumbling around never getting the base while 5 or 6 do most of the work.

The Hurri IIC would make it possible for the 5 or 6 knights with a will, to get the town down, kill flackers and capture the base while the rest play grab kester with the defenders. 4 cannons on a non-perked CV plane would be an assist in spite of themselves for the knights at this point. If you think about it, the hurri is so slow, manned ackers and whirbels make minced meat of them quickly. Defenders will be able to get up N1KI asap to mow them from the sky.

My focuse is the small group of players who always do the grunt work on the town who would know what to do with this tool. 4-20mm and 2-500lb bombs. Its not like I'm asking HiTech to unperk the CHog with 2x the 20mm ammo and ord.
