CH Pro Pedal problem

Hello all!

Getting right to it, here's my problem: the right pedal on my CH Pro Pedals no longer gets any readings for the braking axis.  The rudder axis works fine and the left pedal is working as well.  Would the pot just die with no warning or could something else be at fault?

Jiggle the cable at the point where it goes into the pedals on the base.  There is a design flaw in the Pro Pedals (all versions non-USB and USB) where the wires get pinched where the cable goes into the pedal base.  Sometimes jiggling it gets the wires free until the next time they get pinched.

Any other suggestions?  I bought the pedals used and doubt they are still under warranty.  How difficult/expensive would a home repair job be?

The most common problems are either a wire came off of the pot, or a wire has actually gone bad.

If you can solder, you can fix it.

My bet would be on a broken connection/wire. Like NHawk said if you can solder you can fix it pretty easily

crap.  I've never soldered anything.  Hopefully the wire jingling will work when I try it out.

Had two sets of CH pedals do this, the wire got pinched and broke. I tried to fix it but I'm not that great with wiring, and maybe the wire had more than one break - so my latest set is sans-toe-brakes. Next time I'll buy some saiteks. It put me off CH forever.

trying to just wiggle the wire around didn't fix it.  I guess I'm going to have to tear it open.  Probably needs a good cleaning out anyways.

I have exactly the same problem: right toe brake on CH Pro USB pedals is dead.  But I'm lazy: I just set up the AH controls to run both brakes from the left pedal.  Guess I'll have to man up and go find my soldering iron. (A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, I once had a job assembling circuit boards for custom-built keyboard synthesizer musical instruments. BTW, the instructions in that video on soldering from the "WonderHowTo" site are right on the money.)

Yeah, the wire is broke. After fixing mine a couple if times just to have them break again I just quit fixing them. Hint: after you take all the screws out of the bottom turn them back right side up before cracking the case. If you don't turn them over life gets harder. Lift carefully as there are wires connecting the two halfs. At least there is couple of wires probably not broken.
